steve contardi

Dear Crunch Time Coaching Student

Are you finding it difficult to get better at the second serve?

Are you finding the game frustrating because of the pressure your serve faces in every match?

Do you have a million swing thoughts running through your head every time you pick up a racket?

Are you ready to become the tennis player you know you can be?

Yes?

Then pay close attention to what I’m about to say …

I’m Going to Simplify The Second Serve for You … It’s an Approach That Works …

I have been teaching tennis for 25 years. I have produced 13 online course about tennis, won prestigious awards like USTA Georgia Pro of the Year, and you’ve seen me on YouTube and the featured coach on Midwest Sports.

I have made instructional videos and courses with tennis legends Rod Laver, John Newcombe, Rick Leach, Fred Stolle and Roy Emerson!

What makes me different from other teachers?

I have spent my entire teaching career striving to make things easy and simple for my students … thousands of them at all playing levels whether they are competing for a national title, state championship, or just want to enjoy the game with less frustration.

The approach works.

  • "Top level” students have won tournaments around the nation.
  • I have helped complete beginners start hitting great shots almost immediately.
  • And I have helped thousands of “terminal hackers” become some of the best players at their club.

How? By simplifying the key concepts in successful tennis.

This approach will work for you … especially if you’re confused and you don’t have a clear plan for improvement.

The Greatest Second Serve Learning Laboratory On The Planet … And What This Means for You …

I have been playing and coaching for 35 years. I help players reach their tennis goals provided they follow the simple instruction.

I discovered what works … and what doesn’t … because unlike other online instructors I am still teaching on the court EVERYDAY. I’m not just randomly thinking of problems you might have, I see them everyday!

So the methods I use to teach every aspect of the second serve are PROVEN TO WORK.

I have watched as …

  • Chronic double faulters have molded their second serve into a thing of beauty.
  • Tennis players who were terrified of changing to the continental grip finally took that successful leap of faith.
  • Weak strikers of the ball started to hit solid shots time after time.
  • Hookers and pullers of the tennis ball reclaimed their accuracy.
  • People who were ready to give up out of sheer frustration started to get their love for the game back … and play as much as possible.
  • Tennis players who could not serve their way out of a paper bag now serve with EXTREME CONFIDENCE.
  • The worst players at the Club started to finally win games, then sets, matches, and go onto state championships.
All because I kept things simple for my students … and because I learned so much from them in the laboratory … right there on the court.

Why You Might Be Frustrated … And The Solution …

I have a lot of sympathy for tennis players who are confused and struggling. Tennis can be a hard game … but it can also be a huge amount of fun.

When tennis players come to see me, I find they have a lot of misinformation in their heads. They may have heard a tip from their dentist … or heard something that really applied to a top pro on tour. Many have seen something in one magazine then seen something else in another magazine.

The result? Confusion.

And confused tennis players don’t improve.

I have built my teaching … and my reputation … around making tennis instruction EASY to understand … and by giving students a clear plan for success based a proven model.

Does it work? YOU BET!

Let’s Look at the course in the Second Serve Confidence Series in Detail.

Over 3 Hours of Instruction!

Second Serve Confidence Training Three Hours and 45 minutes of Lesson Material

Your Top 10 second serve concerns addressed
  • I conducted a survey a couple months ago and asked what your number # 1 Challenge was on the Second Serve. I listened carefully to build the course around your top concerns.
  • Issues that kept coming up over and over again where problems like
  • I think about the double fault
  • I wish I did not tighten up and could swing freely
  • I play well in practice but on pressure points in a match my second serve falls apart
  • I can’t get enough spin and rotation on the ball to trust myself to swing freely
  • I want more consistency and better placement
  • I wish I had a little more power so my serve did not get attacked so much
So in video 1 we talk about all those challenges openly and how we are going to address each one
Next we will address Conquering the Contact Challenge
  • Discover the best toss locations when you hitting a slice serve vs kick serve.
  • Learn the subtle difference between where you want your contact extension to be based off the slice and kick serve.
  • Finally, is the second serve contact point the same as the first serve or should there be an adjustment made.
All these important questions and more answered inside the training.
How to Master the Sick Kick Step by Step
The kick serve for most tennis players is absolutely essential.
Why?

Because most tennis players are right handed.

The kick serve is the easiest and safest ways to find your opponent’s backhand. The kick serve also is great for a second serve because of it’s height and hangtime. This allows the server time to get in position for the next shot in plenty of time. Because of this player’s like Edberg and Rafter were able to be quite effective with serve and volley even on their second serve.

Finally, a good kick will jump out of the opponent’s hitting zone often leaving you with an easy hit in zone 2 and 3 of the court, which makes attacking your set up bal much easier.

In this section you will learn:

  • The chicken wing follow through which will make pronation easier and add extra pop to the follow through.
  • The zipper move for simple preparation that makes it almost impossible to mess up
  • The correct toss and contact point so you can truly master the kick serve without being off balance or breaking your back.
  • The tomahawk chop which really enables you to feel the swing path of the kick.
  • The proper grip and much more!
Solving the Slice Serve Contact Debate
I know there is lots of conflicting information on the internet about how to hit a slice and where you should aim on the ball to develop a great slice.

I will make it crystal clear exactly how the slice works and how you need to hit the ball to make it curve off the court.
Easy Drill to Master Slice Serve from the Baseline
Get rid of all the frustration of learning the slice serve with one of my favorite drills. The POPCORN drill. Been using this drill for decades now and it works like a charm.

People who tried for months without any success to control their slice serve from the baseline are often able to do so after one tennis lesson.
3 Preparation Phase Options
You need to master the 3 technical check-points on your serve. The pros have all mastered these checkpoints and therefore are able to hit their serve with pace, spin, and pin point accuracy, and as a result they rarely double fault.
Part 1: 3 Most Common Stance Options: The Agassi, The Goran, or Monfils
I think there are certain serve habits that have to be followed to the letter to make the serve work. But there is also room for individual preference and comfort. The stance on the serve is one of them. I will give you 3 basic stance options to pick from and point out the pros and cons of each one.
Part 2: Easy Rythm Progressions: The Rock and Roll, The Neutral Start, Back in the Saddle
Having Flow on your serve is essential. Too many players are so mechanical. This is why in the Big Moments double faults start flooding in.

When you can relax into the hitting position with smooth momentum you are able to serve with little thought and able to deliver a serve with effortless power.
Part 1: The #1 Key to a Free Swing: Pushing vs Natural Deceleration
Maybe the most important lesson in the entire course! The number 1 desire of Crunch Time Coaching Members was to be able to SWING FREELY.

Tightening up on the serve was a HUGE issue for so many. Once you learn the secret to natural deceleration the serve becomes Free and Easy.
Part 2: Tempo Timing Finding the Goldilocks Swing Formula
In this video I teach you how to find your ideal swing speed. Player’s often suffer from what I call the Goldilocks Syndrome…

They swing too slow or too fast.

You will learn your ideal swing speed that will allow you to master control, spin, and placement over the tennis ball.
Part 3: What is your 30 all serve?
If you don’t have what I call a 30 all serve, you have no chance of playing well under pressure.

In this section I explain what a 30 all serve is and that it does not have to be 30 all in the game to implement this valuable tactic.

In fact my best 30 all serve is used on the ad side.

In the course I explain this concept in detail and help you identify your 30 all serve.
TTM Practice to Measure Your Second Serve Progress
If you purchased my solo shots course then you know how important you think it is to measure your progress.

Inside the course we go through a series of drills where I show you how to measure your progress on your section serve.

This will help you immensely in your matches with confidence!

Right now if your serve practice practice just consist of hitting baskets of serves with no real plan, you are wasting your own time.

In fact, it may even make your serve worse!

The key to mastering any shot in tennis is my TTM System

Technical- Got you covered A to Z in this course
Tactical- I am throwing in my tactical Serve Template as a bonus so Don’t Miss Out!
Measurement- The key to any successful venture is always measured.

Follow this process step by step and you cannot FAIL!
Correcting the Big 3 Serve Mistakes- If you are going to master the serve you need to become your own Tennis Doctor.
A very common answer I get from students when I ask them Why they missed is…
“I don’t know”.

I teach all my student’s to go down a simple check list so they can quickly identify why they miss shots.

Treat the information as Data and NOT failure.

Don’t get emotional.

Instead know exactly why you missed and how to quickly implement the simple fix all by yourself.

Problem solving is one of the most underrated skills of a successful tennis player,

Dare I say it maybe the #1 skill.

We all make mistakes...NO one plays the Perfect match.

The players who can solve problems after mistakes are always the best players.
The Elephant in the Room: How to Beat Your Worst Enemy
Because the second serve is so mental I brought in a mental guru. His name is Skip Johnson and he is a USPTA Master Professional...author of a best selling amazon book Grateful For Everything...and business owner.

Our interview lasted 30 minutes and it was AWESOME...he walks us through something he calls the Party system that will help you settle your nerves, focus, execute and build mental momentum over the competition.

I then take you on the court and show you exactly how I implemented the Party system so you get a good feel of how to implement it in the rhythm of a match...Powerful stuff and I actually think it helped me! I am keeping that one for sure in my bag of coaching tricks!

Believe it or not there is even more information inside the course but my fingers are getting tired and I still have a boatload to cover!
