Here is a list of training equipment we really like for tennis players. Many of the training tools we will start to use in class.
Foam Rollers: A must have for the house. Foam rolling exercises are the most inexpensive, alternative to increase energy levels and to help aid in your tennis fitness recovery.
A foam roller is a cylindrical cone of resistant foam that can be easily placed between the body and the floor. Tennis players can position their body over the foam roller and use their body weight, to roll back and forth. This positioning exerts pressure on the muscles and underlying tissues, which in turn releases muscle tension.
Ladder: Outstanding speed and agility. Tennis is all about small set-up steps and last second adjustments. I don’t know one high level players who does not use this tool.
Reaction Balls: Saw a video of Roger Federer working with these at 16 years old. A great tool to use to improve your reaction time and be ready for last second surprises a tennis ball with throw at you.
The Trainer: Tennis is all about your first step and being explosive in short to mid range sprinting areas. This is a resistance tool you can use by yourself in a small area to get max results when it comes to explosive power.
Heart Monitor (Men): A great way to track your heart rate and calories burned with each Total Tennis Body workout. If you want results you have to measure them!!!
Heart Monitor (Women): A great way to track your heart rate and calories burned with each Total Tennis Body workout. If you want results you have to measure them!!!
Stop Watch: If you don’t have a stop watch this is the one I suggest for your fit test and off court work.
Jump Rope: You cannot be a tennis player and not have one of these. Come on people tennis is all about staying on your toes. I think every athlete in any sport that involves movement and stamina has a jump rope.

Stackable steps: Easy to use in the house and is a great tool for building up power and strength in the legs.
Bands: Are used by the top pros today. They are great warm up tools. They can also be used to strengthen virtually any part of the body from head to toe.
