Forehand and Backhand Volley
Pete’s Key Points to the Overhead
1. Make first move holding on to the racket with racket tip facing forward
2. Start footwork in a semi- open stance with weight on the same leg of your dominate hand.
3. Get everything up. Chest up, non-dominate arm up, and eyes and head up!
4. Move into the racket drop
5. As racket starts to come up towards the ball start to transfer leg weight to the left leg or non-dominant hitting side.
6. Full extended hitting arm at contact
7. Pronate after contact
8. Relax after hit and let racket fully decelerate on its own and start to transfer leg weight back to dominate hitting hand side for a natural and fast recovery.
